Customer Experiences from IOD on Compression
Over the past 4 days I have been at IOD2009, the IBM Information On Demand conference. During the week I attended a number of customer sessions and I wanted to share with you some of their experiences that they shared with the attendees. One session I attended was a great presentation on compression in DB2. In this session, Bill Minor from IBM presented an overview of compression and the enhancements that came in DB2 9.1, 9.5 and 9.7. Then Jay Singh from Fidelity presented their experiences w it.toolbox.com | 10/29/09 4:56 PM
IOD 2009 Day 1 is Packed Full for Me
The IBM Information On Demand 2009 (IOD2009) conference kicked off today and boy am I tired already. My day started at 6am with a business call (because most of the folks I work with are still on east coast time but luckily I’m not on west coast time yet so it still felt like 9am to me). I’m staying at the conference hotel but as anyone who has been to a conference in Las Vegas will know, these hotels are so large that by it.toolbox.com | 10/26/09 11:21 PM

Great Story on DB2 with SAP
Here is a story I just came across that appeared on SearchOracle.com of all places. The story profiles how the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. saved money and made an easy switch to DB2 for their SAP systems. This is the same message you have been hearing from IBM for some time now but in this case it's not IBM telling the story it's the company that made the switch.
